Bhakti, Yoga, Japam, Dhyanam, Pooja, and Homa are the means of action that connect the soul consciousness of an individual with the universal consciousness of the Divine. The answer to this question seems to be less. In a word, Sri Gururaya does not allow us to perform puja, homam and vrata whenever we have the possibility. According to the strength of Jataka Lagna and Muhurta, pujas and homams are indicated for the devotees who are in troubles. They do this because man's horoscope and physical conditions are not always as pure and stable as those of Badrinath and Kashi Kshetras. As a result, Puja and Homas are performed on Muhurta days when devotees gather. It is pivotal to direct the devotees to perform pooja and homam only when the devotees gather, not for money or pomp. That is why a lot of people patiently awaiting to meet Sri Gururaya.
According to Sri Gururaya, "If you give time to sadhana, sadhana will offer you serenity." Sadhana done as an uncompromising commitment with sincerity can improve our inner connection with God, regardless of how much time we spend in sadhana. Even if you are overburdened with responsibilities and tasks, it is very beneficial to schedule in some time each day. Balancing family and responsibilities will become easier for you as you deepen your spiritual practice.
